Friday, day 1 – depart Johannesburg Make your way to OR Tambo International Airport for your departure flight.
Saturday, day 2 – arrive Casablanca On arrival at Casablanca International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight
Sunday, day 3 – Casablanca / Rabat (95 km) Today you will visit the economic capital of Morocco: the central market, the Habous district, the Royal Palace, the Mohamed V square, the residential area of Anfa and the outside of the Hassan II Mosque. Continue onto Rabat the administrative capital of the country. Enjoy a city tour visiting: the Royal Palace, (Mechouar), the Oudaya Kasbah, the Mohamed V mausoleum and the Hassan Tower. Dinner and overnight
Monday, day 4 – Rabat / Meknes / Fez (220 km) This morning depart to Meknes and visit the Ismalian capital, famous for its 40 km long walls, visit the Bab Mansour, the Royal stables, the Medina and the Jewish quarter. Continue onto Fez via the holy city of Moulay Idriss, and visit the impressive ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis. Dinner and overnight
Tuesday, day 5 – Fez The whole day is devoted to sightseeing in Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. The medieval Medina with its Attarine and Bou Anania Medersas, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum and the Karaouine mosque. This afternoon visit Fez Jdid. Dinner and overnight
Wednesday, day 6 – Fez / Beni Mellal / Marrakesh (485 km) Depart to Marrakesh passing by the Berber village of Immouzer du Kandar and Ifrane. Arrive in Marrakesh in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight
Thursday, day 7 – Marrakesh The entire day will be devoted to sightseeing in Marrakech – the second oldest Imperial city, known as the pearl of the South. The city was founded by the Almoravides at the end of the 11th century. The historical sightseeing includes the Menara garden, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia palace and the Koutoubia. This afternoon, visit the souks and handicraft quarters displaying a variety of items and the famous place Djemâa El Fna with its non stop entertainment. Overnight at the Riad.
Friday, day 8 – Marrakesh You have the day at leisure in Marrakesh. Overnight
Saturday, day 9 – Marrakesh Day at leisure. Overnight
Sunday, day 10 – Marrakesh You have the day at leisure in Marrakesh. Overnight
Monday, day 11 – Marrakesh / Ouarzazate / Zagora (375 km) Depart by Land Rover to Ouarzazate via the mountains of the high Atlas – passing through the Tich’n’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2,260m. Continue onto Zagora via the mountains of the Anti-Atlas. From Agdz, a track road is taken leading through numerous villages and palm groves along the Draa River. Dinner and overnight
Tuesday, day 12 – Zagora / Erfoud / Merzouga (250 km) Excursion to Tamegroute, visit the famous library containing old books and documents dating from the 12th century. Visit the sand dunes of Tinfou. Depart to Erfoud, partly by track road and party by normal road, through Tansikht and Nkob with splendid sceneries of pre-Saharan desert. Continue to Erfoud in the afternoon via the villages of Alnif and Rissani, birthplace of the present Alaouites Dynasty. Dinner and overnight at Auberge Tombouctou in Merzouga
Wednesday, day 13 – Merzouga / Erfoud / Dades (250 km) Enjoy an early morning excursion to see the sunrise over the sand dunes of Merzouga. Back to the Auberge for breakfast and continue to the Tinhgir Oasis via Erfoud. Tinghir is famous for its magnificent Todghra canyons with rocks reaching an altitude of 250m. Continue to Boulmane where we enter the Dades canyons for a visit – via the road of the thousand Kasbahs. Dinner and overnight
Thursday, day 14 – Dades / Ouarzazate (150 km) Depart to El Kelaa from where we take a track road to the village of Skoura. On the way, you will pass the beautiful Kasbah of Amerhidel. The track road will continue until Ouarzazate following the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight.
Friday, day 15 – Ouarzazate / Marrakesh (200 km) Enjoy a short visit of Ouarzazate including the Kasbah of Taourirt and continue onto Ait Benhad Eurou. This Kasbah is the most famous one in Morocco and has served as the backdrop for many great movies. The Kasbah is actually under UNESCO protection. Continue to Telouet – the scenery is absolutely stunning. Visit the Kasbah of Telouet, former residence of the Glaoui family, one of the most influential families of this region. Continue to Marrakesh via the Tich’N’tichka pass. Overnight
Saturday, day 16 – depart Marrakesh / Casablanca Early morning transfer to the train station of your departure train to Casablanca. On arrival in Casablanca, you will be transferred to Casablanca International Airport for your departure flight.
Sunday, day 17 – arrive Johannesburg Early morning arrival at OR Tambo International Airport.
