Wat Pho, which features the largest reclining Buddha image in Thailand and the Chedi of the kings, is Bangkok's oldest and largest temple. Day 3 – Bangkok After breakfast, we are off to visit the Grand Palace. The Grand Palace is one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese court. It used to be the residence of the Kings of Bangkok. Day 5 – Bangkok Early this morning at 07h00, you will be taken on an excursion to Bangkok’s famous floating market. There are countless floating markets throughout the country, many within a couple of hours’ of the capital. The colorfully clad merchants at these lively markets paddle along congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruit and vegetables to sell to shoppers on the banks. There is lots of chatter and activity – bargaining is common – that’s all part of the fun – but don’t expect to get the price down more than a few baht. The most famous of the floating markets is Damnoen Saduak, about 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok. This buzzing market is at its best in the early morning before the crowds arrive and the heat of the day builds up. Continuing on to Nakorn Pathom - supposedly the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia. Transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Bangkok
Day 6 – Bangkok Early this morning at 07h00, you will be taken on an excursion to Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai. Fascinating, nostalgic and memorable sums up this day tour to Kanchanaburi province. The famous bridge and the beginning of the “Death Railway” is a poignant reminder of the thousands of POW’s and forced laborers who lost their lives in the 2nd World War during the construction works on the railway. Visit the Thailand – Burma Railway Museum - an interactive museum. After a visit to the War Cemetary, enjoy a scenic long-tail boat trip along Maeklong River to the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Continue by van/coach to Pakseng for lunch at a local restaurant.
