Day 1 – depart Johannesburg
Make your way to OR Tambo International Airport for you overnight flight to Istanbul via Cairo.

Day 2 – arrive Istanbul
Arrive at Cairo International Airport and transfer to your onward flight to Istanbul.
Welcome to Turkey! On arrival at Istanbul Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in.

Day 3 – Istanbul
After breakfast you will be taken on a guided city tour visiting Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome – where chariot races and the Byzantine riots took place, the Blue Mosque and St. Sophia. Overnight in Istanbul

Day 4 – Smyrna / Basilica Tour Pergamon
This morning you will transfer from the hotel to Istanbul airport for your flight to Izmir. Arrive in Izmir. Drive to ancient Smyrna – second one of the Seven Christian Churches in Asia Minor to which St. John the Divine wrote Revelation 1-11. In the afternoon proceed to Thyatira, another one of the Seven Churches. See the remains of a Basilica and other ruins from the Roman period. Drive to Pergamum for overnight.

Day 5 – Pergamon
After breakfast, visit the Acropolis with its pagan temples and Altar of Zeus. Continue to the healing centre, Aesculapius.
Overnight in Pergamon.

Day 6 – Sardis, Philadelphia and Pamukkale Tour
After breakfast depart for Sardes, another one of the Seven Churches mentioned by St. John. Continue to Philadelphia to another one of the Christian congregations, and a city built in 2 B.C. by King Eumenos. Continue to Pamukkale (Hierapolis). Watch the sunset over the petrified waterfalls.

Day 7 – Leodicea & Ephesus Tour
After breakfast, visit Hierapolis and then Leodicea before continuing to Ephesus. See the final abode of the Virgin Mary where she spent her last years. Tour through ancient Ephesus to see the old synagogue, the theatre where St. Paul preached (Acts 10), the Library of Celsus and other sights.

Day 8 – Kusadasi & Istanbul
Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 – depart Istanbul
Check out of the hotel after breakfast. You will be transferred to Istanbul Airport for your departure flight via Cairo back to Johannesburg

Day 10 – arrive Johannesburg
Early morning arrival at OR Tambo International Airport.
