This Morocco tour begins in the lively city of Marrakesh, home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The tour heads into Morocco’s beautiful southeast region, towards the golden dunes of the Sahara desert; the world’s largest hot desert. Travel over the High Atlas mountains and through traditional Berber villages to Zagora and Merzouga; visit the incredible canyon of Todghra Gorge recognized around the world as one of the most spectacular canyons. Explore some of the ancient Kasbahs, a type of fortress where the local leaders lived and dotted around this region, visit the Canyon of Dades, Zagora known for international events such as the Zagora Marathon and the Nomads festival before returning to Marrakesh, home to mosques, palaces and gardens, maze like alleys and thriving souks.

Day 1

Marrakesh
* Arrive at Marrakesh Menara airport and welcomed by our local representative. Assistance and transfer to your hotel.
* Dinner and accommodation

Day 2

Marrakesh
* Day free at your own leisure to enjoy the beauty of Marrakesh;
* Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Marrakesh
* Full day sightseeing of Marrakesh: The Menara gardens; The Bahia Palace; The Saadian Tomb and the Koutoubia mosque.
* Lunch at hotel.
* Afternoon; visit of the famous Djemaa El Fna square with its surrounding souks and handicraft centers.
– Optional: Dinner fantasia show.
* Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Marrakesh – Kasbah Telouet – Kasbah Ait Benhadou – Ouarzazate (220 km)
* Departure by 4WD to Ouarzazate via the mountains of the high Atlas passing through the Tich’n’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2260 m via Telouet where the scenery is absolutely stunning.
* Visit the Kasbah of Telouet; a former residence of the Glaoui family; one of the most influential families of this region.
* Visit the Kasbah Ait Benhado. This Kasbah is the most famous one in Morocco and has served as setting for many famous movies; the Kasbah is now a UNESCO protected monument.
* Continue on a short visit of Ouarzazate including the Kasbah of Taourirt.
* Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 5

Ouarzazate – Tineghir – Erfoud – Merzouga (400 km)
* After Breakfast; travel to Boumalne and EL Kelגa via the road of the thousand Kasbahs; passing by Skoura.
* On the way; we pass the beautiful Kasbah of Amerhidel;
* Visit the Dades Canyon and onwards to Tinghir. Tinghir is famous for its magnificent Todra canyons whose rocks reach an altitude of 250 meters.
* Excursion to the canyons and possibility for a short hike. .
* Travel on track road via Erfoud; to Merzouga.
* Dinner and accommodation in Merzouga
– Optional overnight under desert tents (NB: This option must be booked well in advance).

Day 6

Merzouga – Alnif – Zagora (310 km)
* Early morning go on a short walk and see the sunrise over the sand-dunes of Merzouga;
* Return for breakfast and leave for Zagora via the village of Rissani; birthplace of the present Alaouites Dynasty.
* Continue to Alnif; a small Berber village; for (Optional) lunch.
* Continuation to Zagora via Tazzarine and Taghbalt.
* On the way; splendid sceneries of pre-saharian desert dotted with Berber villages; Excursion to Tamegroute; visit of the famous library containing an impressive collection of old Manuscripts and documents dating from the 12th century.
* Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7

Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakesh (360 km)
* After Breakfast; road to Marrakesh;
* From Agdz; we head forward on the track road leading through numerous villages and palm groves along the Drגa river before heading to Ouarazzate.
* Optional Lunch.
* Continuation Via the Tizin ’tichka pass; to Marrakesh.
* Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Marrakesh – Departure
* Transfer to the airport of Marrakesh and assistance with departure formalities.
