Istanbul

The Islamic Stay (5 Days) is for those with about a week to experience Turkey this is it! We will take you to all of the must see spots in the city. The tour covers Istanbul and Bursa. We offer halal and Muslim-friendly hotels. Professional English speaking guides and first class service.

On the first day our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will be given your room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore the city.

You will have the Old City Tour. Visiting Topkapi Palace, (closed on Mondays), the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Suleymaniye Mosque and Covered Bazaar.

The city has been the center of Islamic religion for centuries. After the Ottoman period Islamic Religion spreaded througout the city.
The first mosque in the city was built in Kadikoy on the Asian side of the city, which was conquered by the Ottoman Turks in 1353.
On the European side, the first mosque was built inside the Rumeli Castle in 1452.
The first grand mosque which was built in the city proper is the Eyup Sultan Mosque (1458). The first imperial mosque inside the city walls was the Fatih Mosque (1470) which was built on the site of the Church of the Holy Apostles, an important Byzantine church. It was originally built in the time of Constantine the Great.

Day 1

Istanbul – Arrival Day
* You are met at the airport for transfer to your hotel.
* You will be given your room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore Istanbul.
* Overnight in Istanbul.
* There are two airports in Istanbul.
– Istanbul Ataturk airport is 20 km away from city center and;
– Sabiha Gokcen airport is 55 km away from city center.
– Transfer from Ataturk airport to your hotel is included. If you arrive to Sabiha Gokcen airport please contact us for transfer rates.

Day 2

Istanbul Islamic and Sahabe Tour
* After breakfast around 08:30 we depart on an Islamic and Sahabe Tour.
* Istanbul has been the center of religion for centuries. After the Ottoman period Islamic religion spread throughout the city.
* The first mosque in Istanbul was built in Kadikoy on the Asian side of the city; which was conquered by the Ottoman Turks in 1353.
* The first mosque on the European side of Istanbul was built inside the Rumeli Castle in 1452.
* The first grand mosque was built in the city proper in the Eyup Sultan Mosque (1458).
* Next to Eyup Sultan Mosque visit the tombs of the Sahabe; famous in Turkey for being the first generation of Muslims; who had come and besieged the city.
* The Suleymaniye Mosque becomes more meaningful when understood in its historical and cultural context. It was built during the latter part of Suleyman’s long and prosperous reign; which stretched from 1520 to 1566.
* Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 3

Istanbul – Bursa Tour
* Pick up from your hotel at 07:30 am and depart for Bursa.
* Visit Bursa with all its famous and Islamic heritage dwellings.
* See the Ulucamii (Great Mosque); Cumalikizik Village; Green Mosque; Green Tomb; Ozdilek Factory.
* After the tour return to Istanbul.

Day 4

Istanbul City Tour
* Pick up at 08:30 am from your hotel for a day tour of old Istanbul city.
* Visit to St. Sophia; this ancient basilica; built by Constantine the Great in the 4th century and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century; is one of the architectural marvels of all time.
* Topkapi Palace; the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal; silver; and Chinese porcelain; robes worn by the sultans and their families; the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury; miniatures; the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.
* Sultanhmet Imperial Mosque; across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet; is known as the Blue Mosque because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles.
* The Ancient Hippodrome; the scene of chariot races; with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius; the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.
* Lunch break at 13:00 pm.
* Afterwards your tour guide will take you to the Grand Covered Bazaar In this labyrinth of streets and passages are more than 4;000 shops with each trade having its own area: the goldsmiths’ street; the carpet sellers; Turkish arts and crafts; such as hand painted ceramic plates; hand-honed copper ware; brass ware and trays; water ewers; onyx-ware and meerschaum pipes.
* After the tour; return to your hotel.
* Overnight in Istanbul.
* Please Note: Hagia Sophia is closed on Mondays; Topkapi Palace closed on Tuesdays; and Grand Bazaar closed on Sundays.
* If your tour is on one of these days we would offer you to visit Underground Cistern instead of Hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace museum; instead of Grand Bazaar you will visit Spice Bazaar.

End of Tour
* After breakfast check out from the hotel.
* Transfer to Istanbul Airport – own arrangements
* Services end at Istanbul Airport.
