Highlights
Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx:
Standing tall on the edge of the desert, the Pyramids of Giza are one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring wonders of the ancient world. These colossal structures, built over 4,500 years ago, leave visitors speechless with their sheer size and enduring mystery. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three, is a true marvel of engineering. Guarding the pyramids is the enigmatic Sphinx, a colossal statue with the body of a lion and the face of a pharaoh, gazing across the sands for eternity.
Egyptian Museum:
A treasure trove of history, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo holds the world’s most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts. Wander through its galleries, where the golden mask of Tutankhamun, intricate jewellery, royal mummies, and everyday objects from ancient life transport you back in time. Every room offers a glimpse into the grandeur and mystery of Egypt’s past.
Khan el-Khalili Bazaar:
Step into the bustling heart of Cairo at Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, where the scents of spices, the glitter of lanterns, and the hum of bartering voices create a feast for the senses. This centuries-old marketplace is the perfect spot to shop for unique souvenirs, from handcrafted jewellery to intricate textiles, all while soaking in the rich atmosphere of Cairo’s vibrant culture.
