Itinerary

Day 7

Kempinski Seychelles Resort (B/D)

  • Use the morning to meet Pepe, Paris, Johnny and Jeanette - our resident Aldabra Giant Tortoises.
  • These four old-timers can be found opposite the Dive Center and love receiving visits from our guests.
  • A visit with one of our knowledgeable members from the Recreation Team is recommended, as they can point out the individual characteristics and personality traits of each of our giants and know where to get their favourite food (apples). Despite being relics of the dinosaur age, these tortoises are surprisingly affectionate and enjoy having their necks rubbed. Aldabra giant tortoises are among the largest tortoises in the world and can live for over 200 years. While our tortoises may be young for their species (Johnny, the eldest, is over 75 years old), we still ask our guests to be respectful of these remarkable animals and not sit on them or put their fingers near their mouths - giant tortoises are largely herbivorous, but will try to eat anything that is offered to them!
